Summer is almost over, and we could not be more ready to have you join us. We have a great introduction week planned in week 35, packed with social events, fun activities and all the chances you need to meet the people you will be studying together with.

The week is built to get you comfortable with both sides of life at CBS, the academic and the social, and we have a lot planned that we think you will love.

Dear Students,

Welcome to the IB program. You have chosen to pursue a path that will challenge, inspire and equip you to play a meaningful role in shaping the global economy of tomorrow.

Over the next three years, you will gain essential skills to navigate the complexities of global markets, understand cultural and institutional nuances, and develop strategies for international entries and expansions. Our curriculum is designed to provide hands-on experience through case studies and real-world applications that prepare you for the challenges and opportunities in the global business arena.

In addition to an exciting academic environment, you are joining a diverse community where collaboration and cultural exchange are at the heart of learning. Engaging with peers from various backgrounds will enrich your experience and help you build a global network. Working in teams and sharing perspectives are invaluable in shaping your understanding of international business.

The global business environment is complex, and adaptability is key. Stay engaged and open-minded, ask questions, and make the most of your time here. We look forward to supporting you on this transformative journey.

Programme for intro week

Activities at CBS will appear in your schedule, which you will find at calendar.cbs.dk. The below programme may differ slightly from calendar.cbs.dk, as it shows the room booking timeslots. It is the timeslots in the programme below that you must follow.

Activities outside CBS, e.g. social events, will not appear in your schedule, but only in the programme below.

Meeting point: Kilen, Kilevej 14A, 2000 Frederiksberg

Practical information: Lunch is provided on Monday. You do not need to bring anything except yourself. Please dress according to the weather. Pizza dinner is provided in the evening, but the exact address will be shared by your guide, as dinners take place at guides’ homes.

  • 08:30-09:45: Check-in and name tags. You must meet at Kilen, Kilevej 14A, 2000 Frederiksberg. If you take the metro, the closest station is Fasanvej Metro Station. Please look for the IB study start guides, who will help you find your group and give you your name tag.
  • 10:00-10:20: Introduction to Study Start Week. Location: SP202 Accenture, Solbjerg Plads 3, 2000 Frederiksberg. All new students will be guided to the lecture hall. Here, the study start coordinators will officially welcome you to CBS and introduce the programme for the week. You will get an overview of the different days, meeting points, communication channels, and practical information.
  • 10:20-10:30: Introduction to IB Union. Location: SP202 Accenture, Solbjerg Plads 3, 2000 Frederiksberg. IB Union will give a short presentation about who they are, what they do, and how you can get involved. This includes social events, academic representation, and community activities.
  • 10:30-11:00: Introduction to Studies. Location: SP202 Accenture, Solbjerg Plads 3, 2000 Frederiksberg. You will be introduced to the academic side of the International Business programme. The programme leadership gives a presentation of the study programme, its structure, possibilities, and what studying IB at CBS will look like.
  • 11:00-11:30: Walk to Porcelænshaven. The guides will walk with you from Solbjerg Plads 3 to Porcelænshaven 16-26, 2000 Frederiksberg.
  • 11:30-12:30: Icebreakers at Porcelænshaven. Location: Porcelænshaven 16-26, 2000 Frederiksberg. You will participate in different icebreaker activities in smaller groups. The purpose is to help you move beyond basic introductions and start getting to know your fellow students in a relaxed and informal setting
  • 12:30-13:00: Walk back to Solbjerg Plads. The guides will walk with you back from Porcelænshaven 16-26 to Solbjerg Plads 3.
  • 13:00-14:00: Lunch. Location: outside Solbjerg Plads 3, 2000 Frederiksberg. Lunch is provided by CBS. This is a relaxed break where you can eat, recharge, and continue talking to your group and guides.
  • 14:00-14:15: Meet up in groups. Location: outside Solbjerg Plads 3, 2000 Frederiksberg. After lunch, you will meet up again in your assigned group. Your guide will make sure everyone is present and explain the next activity.
  • 14:15-15:30: Campus tour of CBS. Meeting point: Solbjerg Plads 3, 2000 Frederiksberg. Your study-guides will take you around key CBS locations.
  • 15:30-15:45: Round off. Location: SP202 Accenture, Solbjerg Plads 3, 2000 Frederiksberg. The coordinators will round off the day, recap the most important information, and remind you of the programme for Tuesday. The purpose is to close the first day together and make sure everyone knows what happens next.
  • 17:30 – 21:00: Pizza Dinner organised by guides at their homes. Location will be provided on Monday morning. Guides will provide pizza to the new students accompanied by welcoming atmosphere to talk, ask questions and get to know each other.

Tuesday,

Meeting point: You must meet at Lindevangsparken, 2000 Frederiksberg, by the side closest to Lindevang Metro Station. Look for the IB study start guides.

Practical information: Lunch is not provided on Tuesday. Dress according to the weather and wear clothes and shoes you can be active in. International students should stay after the Introduction to Student Organisations for the International Info Session. Dinner and soft drinks, are included in the evening.

  • 09:00-09:30: Check-in and name tags. You must meet at Lindevangsparken, 2000 Frederiksberg, by the side closest to Lindevang Metro Station. Look for the IB study start guides.
  • 09:30-11:00: Robinson Challenge. Location: Lindevangsparken, 2000 Frederiksberg. You will participate in a Robinson-inspired team competition with different activity stations.
  • 11:00-12:00: Lunch break. Location: area around Lindevangsparken, 2000 Frederiksberg. Lunch is not provided.
  • 12:00-12:30: Robinson Finale. Location: Lindevangsparken, 2000 Frederiksberg. The top teams from the morning activities will compete in the final Robinson challenge
  • 12:30-13:00: Walk to Solbjerg Plads. You will walk from Lindevangsparken to SP202 Accenture, Solbjerg Plads 3, 2000 Frederiksberg.
  • 13:00-14:00: Introduction to first semester courses. Location: SP202 Accenture, Solbjerg Plads 3, 2000 Frederiksberg. You will be introduced to the courses in your first semester, including the overall structure, course content, and what to expect academically.
  • 14:00-14:15: Break. Location: SP202 Accenture, Solbjerg Plads 3, 2000 Frederiksberg. A short break to stretch, get water, and reset before the next presentation.
  • 14:15-15:00: Introduction to student organisations. Location: SP202 Accenture, Solbjerg Plads 3, 2000 Frederiksberg. A selection of CBS student organisations will give short presentations about who they are, what they do, and how you can join.
  • 15:00-16:00: International Info Session. Location: SP202 Accenture, Solbjerg Plads 3, 2000 Frederiksberg. This session is for international students. International guides will share practical advice about starting life in Denmark, including CPR, MitID, housing, banking, phone plans, public transport, biking, grocery shopping, healthcare, and social life in Copenhagen.
  • 14:45-17:30: Free time (16:15-17:30 – free time for internationals)
  • 17:30-18:00: Meet up at Station and introduction to the evening plan. Location: Station, Howitzvej 30, 2000 Frederiksberg. All students meet in the yard at Station. The guides will explain the evening programme and divide students into groups for the Giant Speed Dating. The purpose is to gather everyone again and prepare for the evening’s social activity.
  • 18:00-19:30: Giant Speed Dating and Dinner. Location: Station, Howitzvej 30, 2000 Frederiksberg. You will be divided into groups to participate in the Giant Speed Dating to get to know your classmates better before dinner.
  • Afterwards, we will have dinner at Station.

There are no introduction activities on Wednesday. This applies to all study programmes.

Meeting point: CBS Porcelænshaven, Porcelænshaven 16-26, 2000 Frederiksberg. The breakfast activity takes place in Frederiksberg Have, right next to Porcelænshaven.

Practical information: Bring your own lunch or be ready to buy something during the Copenhagen Challenge. Dress according to the weather and wear good walking shoes, as you will be moving around the city. Light breakfast is provided in the morning.

  • 11:00-12:00: Light breakfast and games. Meeting point: CBS Porcelænshaven, Porcelænshaven 16-26, 2000 Frederiksberg. The breakfast activity takes place in Frederiksberg Have, right next to Porcelænshaven. You will have a light breakfast with coffee, croissants, buns with cheese, and soft drinks. There will also be optional casual games such as spikeball, football, frisbee, and similar outdoor activities.
  • 12:00-12:15: Find your Copenhagen Challenge group. Location: Porcelænshaven 16-26, 2000 Frederiksberg. You will be divided into new teams for the Copenhagen Challenge. Each team will have an assigned study guide.
  • 12:15-14:45: Copenhagen Challenge. Location: various locations around Copenhagen. In teams, you will move around Copenhagen with your guide and complete different challenges, while exploring the city.
  • 14:45-15:00: Round off at Kongens Have. Location: Kongens Have, Øster Voldgade 4, 1350 København K.
  • All groups meet again at Kongens Have to round off the daytime activity and say goodbye before heading home.

Meeting point: SP202 Accenture, Solbjerg Plads 3, 2000 Frederiksberg

Practical information: : Please bring your computer, as you will need it for the study start module. Lunch is not provided. If you want to join the optional social run, bring running clothes and running shoes. If you want to swim afterwards, bring swimwear and a towel.

  • 10:00-12:00: Get ready for your first day. Location: SP202 Accenture, Solbjerg Plads 3, 2000 Frederiksberg. You will be introduced to the most important digital platforms and practical systems you will use as a CBS student.
  • 12:15-12:30: Student Guidance. Location: SP202 Accenture, Solbjerg Plads 3, 2000 Frederiksberg. Student Guidance will give a short introduction to how they can help you during your studies. This may include questions about study planning, exams, rules and regulations, well-being, and where to find support.
  • 12:30-13:30: Lunch break. Location: Solbjerg Plads 3, 2000 Frederiksberg. Lunch is not provided.
  • 13:30-14:30: Run with a guide or transport of choice to Broens Gadekøkken. Starting point: Solbjerg Plads 3, 2000 Frederiksberg. End point: Broens Gadekøkken, Strandgade 95, 1401 København K. Students who want to be active can join an optional social run with guides. The route ends at Broens Gadekøkken. If you do not want to run, you can bike, walk, take the metro, or use another form of transport and meet the group there.
  • 14:30-15:00: Socialise and say goodbye. Location: Broens Gadekøkken, Strandgade 95, 1401 København K, near the harbour area. All students and guides meet at Broens Gadekøkken. There will be time to socialise, enjoy the area, and round off the Introduction Week together. Students who want to can also go for an optional swim nearby.

12 August: Online pre-arrival seminar 

Join CBS for an online seminar to help you get settled in Denmark and at CBS. You will get information and tips about registration with the authorities, housing, living in Denmark and much more.

23 August: Welcome event 

On this day you will get essential practical, academic and cultural information to assist you in your transition to CBS and Copenhagen.

We are a team of study start guides and coordinators from across different years on the IB programme, and we have spent a lot of time putting together the best possible study start for you in week 35. We cannot wait to show you what we have planned and to share a great week with all of you.

What brings us together is simple, we truly care about giving you the smoothest, most fun introduction to student life that we can. We were all in your shoes a year ago, and we know how much a good start matters.
